Presenting Romani Atlantic at the IMISCOE Annual Conference 2026

At the 23rd IMISCOE Annual Conference “Strengthening Migration Studies through Community Engagement” that took place in Girona, Spain, on 29 June – 2 July 2026, Tina Magazzini presented findings from the Romani Atlantic project in a Special Session of the Standing Committee on Race, Racism and Discrimination (RACED) titled “Antigypsysm in Europe Today: Perspectives from Academia and Civil Society”. She also participated in a workshop on “Beyond Exceptionalism: Normalizing Engaged Research and Questioning its ‘Non-Engaged’ Counterpart”, that sought to unsettle the narrative that treats activism as an exception to academic practice in migration and minory rights studies.
